Tachi Tzuhu
Tzuhu Guest House is the late President Chiang
Kai-Shek's temporary
resting place. The scenery with stream and mountains
as its background
is just superb.
CKS (Chiang Kai-Shek) International Airport
Situated 40 km west of Taipei, the CKS International
Airport is one of
ten major construction projects. Beside the airport
is the Chung Cheng
Aviation Museum, the largest of its kind in East
Asia.
Yinghsi Gate at Hsinchu
The city wall of Hsinchu was built in the 7th
year of the reign of
Emperor Taokuang (1827) of the Ching dynasty.
There were four
gates installed. Now, Yinghsi (east) Gate is
the only one still being kept.
Tsingtsao (Green Grass) Lake at Hsinchu
The reservoir, 4 km south of Hsinchu, irrigates
500 hectares of
farmland. In the surroundings, there are plenty
of temples and
pagodas to visit.
Shihtou Mt. at Nanchuang
The mountain, 520 meters above sea level, is
18 km from Chunan town.
It is noted for the fantastic rock formation
of Shihtou (Lion's Head).
With many temples on the mountain, it may well
be called the holy land
of Buddhism.
Mingteh Dam at Touwu
Located at Touwu village, Maoli county, the dam
was built for the
purpose of irrigating the valley of the Houlung
stream.
Taichung Park
The park, in the center of downtown Taichung,
is a notable example
of classical Chinese landscaping that covers
20.2 hectares of land. In
the park is a lake, in the middle of which is
a pavilion. It was built in
the 29th year of the reign of Emperor Kuanghsu
(1903) of the Ching
