We left at 3:00 to get to Newark for our 7:40 flight. We got there extra early becasue the British Airways strike was supposed to begin at midnight. We said goodbye to our parents and left.

We rode on a 747 and left on time. This was my not my first plane ride, but I was still terrified! (I love travelling, but if humans were meant to fly, they would have wings!) The ride wasn't bad except for the occassional bit of turbulence. We reached London at 7:15 AM on Wednesday.

Note: Bathrooms on planes are weird!

Well, we tried to avoid the strike, but we ended up smack in the middle of it. We had booked a flight on another airline, but they told us we wouldn't be able to get a plane until the next day! We were misdirected all over Heathrow trying to locate our luggage (which they lost), but we eventually gave up.

We ended up taking a 2 hour trip on a double decker bus through London to Euston Train Station, where we took a 5 and a half hour trip on a train. We decided to write this to pass the time. We saw farms and farms and more farms in England, and big, grassy hills in Scotland (and little towns and lots of stone fences!). This train car is not air conditioned and we are dripping with sweat (and we don't have any of our stuff!)

Note: Don't try to use public bathrooms in London: they charge 20 pence!!!

Well, we ended up in Glasgow, where we met Tim's relatives: Auntie Anne and Uncle Ian. They were very nice and helped us search for our luggage. We found out that it had come to Glasgow on the flight we were supposed to take and had gotten driven out to the house! Anyway, we drove all the way to Woodside, where the farm is. (It is near Dundee) It was a 2 hour trip and the scenery was beautiful. We passed Sterling Castle, but we didn't get to take a picture of it.

Note: The day is strange in Scotland! In the summer, the sun doesn't set until after 11PM and rises in the early hours of the day! Hard to get used to!

Pictures!!!

This is Tim and his Uncle Ian on the bridge in the yard of the farm where we stayed.

This is Tim with the horses. They are Arthar, Plum, and Lomey.
