	The field filled up quickly as the pilots jockeyed for position. The small balloons in the foreground are display only.
The balloons begin to inflate and a few appear to be ready to lift off.
	The first balloons take to the air!
This one was really colorful! There were some amazing balloons!
	My friend Scott had the chance to ride in this balloon in Columbia, MO during the national championships in 1997.
The field of balloons drifts to the north. What an amazing sight!
	My good friend Allen! If he looks excited... he is. He's going up for his first balloon ride! He later reported it to be "awesome"!

	A Champaign County Sheriff's Deputy assists with traffic as the balloons take off during the morning launch. The task called for them to fly over the field, drop a marker and then continue on to a target of the pilots choice.
The balloons drift east over a housing area and a corn field. Some of the balloons floated right over the tops of the corn stalks. There was very little wind!
	No, this balloon is not perched on top of the sign post. But, as still as the winds were and as talented as these pilots are, it probably could be!
The balloons set up where the pilots feel they will have the best luck at floating over their target. This balloon was inflated in a driveway on US Rt. 136 in Rantoul.

The balloons starting to drift east past the field. The morning was air pretty hazy.
	The pack really spread out as the pilots tried to find a thermal to take them in the right direction.
You can really tell how hazy it was in this picture.
	This pilot was floating just over the tops of the corn in this field while attempting to line up on his target.

On Wednesday night, the "special shapes" took to the field. This shot was taken as the sun was setting.
	This balloon looked G-R-R-R-E-A-T-T !
As the sun set, the balloons started the evening balloon glow. This was an amazing sight!
	The USMC balloon.
The front line of balloons. The snowman had a light rigged up in his head.
	They plump when you cook 'em. The Ball Park Franks balloon.
The humpty dumpty balloon. The picture isn't too clear because the ropes from the balloon to my right (just out of the frame) caused the auto focus to go nuts. Sorry!
	Happy Halloween!
The Garfield Balloon. It looks a lot like the famous cat. Felix the cat was nearby, but was deflated before I could get a picture of him.
