Hi,
Well, my first real project with this new company is in Bangkok! I consider myself pretty lucky to be on an overseas project and hopefully have some new adventures here. But it seems getting on adventures alone can be pretty dangerous here especially when I can't pass off as a local. So the adventure stories will take a backseat until I find a suitable time to explore.

I'm just so very impressed with the place I'm staying at that I must talk about it over and over again! Has a kitchen with an electric stove (no fire!), big fridge, microwave, toaster, a pot boiler (I dunno the proper name), [stopped a while - please refer *], all the cooking utensils (only no rice cooker though), cutlery and dishware (complete with wine glasses too! - I'm starting to feel like a yuppie already). You don't have to wash your dishes. The room cleaning service will take care of that although I heard that they just run the dishes through water...
A small dining area in the living room. Small round table with 3 chairs. A mirror overlooks it. According to a colleague, it's feng shui. When you have your meal, it's like doubling your food always.
The living room has a comfortable couch (I even like the color - dull green), a sitting chair, coffee table, TV (Sharp), VCR (Phillips), hi-fi stereo (Phillips - gotta remember to bring some CDs) and a balcony to go with it.
Bathroom is big enough and I always prefer mosaic(?) floor. The shower is pretty hard to use though. Maybe I'll try the bathtub when I get really, really tired one day.
The bed is big enough for two. I even did the 'jumping' on the bed thing just to test out the spring. Pretty hard I'd say. There's a cord to connect to the internet (but I did not use it as it'll incur extra charges). Inside the wardrobe cabinet, a locker for the valuables.

I'm typing this while watching MTV (it's Bangkok time 5.48am, Malaysian time 6.48am). I must be fated to watch Richie Ren lah... I just switched channels and was 'handsomely rewarded' with a short message from Richie regarding the plight of sharks where it would be environmentally correct if we could decline eating shark fin soup.
BTW, I'm writing this early on my laptop as I'm still quite patriotic to Malaysian time. Can't really sleep.
