LiLi’s Weekend Stories - Dec4Wk98 (1998 Wrap Up)

Entry: 3.1.1999

Hi,

Another year went by, another year ahead. As I glanced through my weekend stories, it seemed just like yesterday the events took place. I learnt a lot this year in terms of work and relationships. I learnt time and again, no matter how hard I try, the work is always there. I learnt that when too many things need to be done, the focus would be on the most important and urgent one - else I will go "cuckoo". I learnt to accept the fact that I am imperfect. I learnt to forgive my own faults and mistakes. I hope to learn from them too. I learnt to appreciate earth beautiful gifts. I learnt that although there are people who could get you down, there are also wonderful people out there who could lift you up and make you feel alright. I learnt that attitude determines how we look at things. I learnt that each one of us have our own worries and our own dreams. I hope that what I've learnt makes me a better person and understand more about life.

For the end year of 1998, I decided to treat myself. I bought my very first CD - the one that I've been waiting for like ages - a greatest hits package from U2. I bought a book for motivation on work - Chicken Soup for the Soul at Work. I watched a whole bunch of movies - The Wedding Singer, Eddie, Ever After, Practical Magic, Antz, A Bug's Life, Rush Hour and Can Hardly Wait in one weeks time. Some of my friends came down for my birthday (thank you) - unfortunately, I'm having a work crisis that I don't have the mood to kay poh about all that's happened.

What do I think of the new year? I'm scared and look forward to it at the same time. I hope to have enough strength to overcome whatever obstacles. I hope that the travel bug in me is alive and kicking so that my weekend stories will flourish! I hope my family and friends have many happy moments for 1999.

A toast to the new year - may it be a year of life improvement, happiness and excitement.
