LiLi’s Weekend Stories - Feb1Wk98 (Gasing Hill)

Entry: 9.2.1998

Hiya people,

At this moment I'm wondering how I'm going to write the rendezvous last weekend. I think the gang which I went with know what I mean, right?

Was in SS2 last weekend to get my long-due repaired modem. A few of my ex-41 housemates (plus the adopted one!) took me to Amcorp Mall for a first-time visit. Was there for dinner and jalan-jalan. The place macam kat Bangsar shopping complex - all the stuff were cheap for the rich and wealthy onlylah... However was surprised to see the place closing up at 9.30pm.

Okay this is not the rendezvous I'm talking about. There was no interesting places which we could roam/lepak about really. Tasik Jaya was at the opposite of Amcorp Mall - so we headed off there to see if we could catch some lovebirds over there (part of the reason also just to see, see, look, look lah). After a coupla dull minutes (well the lovebirds seem to have gone in hiding at the deeper part of the Tasik which we did not want to intrude), we opted for a better place to catch the birds. Guess where. Yep, the wonderful lovers lane at Bukit Gasing!

So this newly self appointed pasukan pencegah maksiat headed for the elusive Gasing Hill. (It's unfortunate that lovebirds have become our target due to boredomness!). We were early about 10pm. Few couples here and there, nothing too serious that will make our eyes pop out. The place was all-brighty. According to our former visitors (two among the gang), the place used to be dark. So we expect the action over there would be slightly downsized. It's really funny that we found a few families arriving over there. One little kid who was about to venture on a slide was unfortunately disappointed to be carried away because the slide was already occupied by a couple. The father said something like "sorry child, you can only play at this place during daylight".

We sat at a table near the top of the hill and began our operation. Too bad we didn't bring our torchlights coz we could really be doing the pasukan pencegah khalwat a favour. Then we could go off and do our "mana IC thing". Anyway, we began our search for the top three couples. First prize definitely went to the couple which occupied the slide. Hugs and kisses aplenty and they were right at the top where everyone could see. I wasn't having a good view so decided to exchange places. We memang like tengok wayang aje. That couple memang dapat 9 out of 10 points. We also decided to put some psychological theories to test. It seems that our research findings tells us that we can normally guessed how serious the dating can go judging by the way the couple is dressed up. Yeah, the more daring they dressed, the more daring they perform.

And so after having completed our theological studies and since the show was not so much fun when the number one couple left, we descended from the hill. One wonders how long Gasing Hill will be a lovers haunt coz the place is really becoming an unsuitable place to date - well lit, families coming up, gatherings of friends and people like us (kay poh) who make a sport out of it.

With that I need to conclude this weekend's fable coz I'm running out of time to write! Cheerio!
