LiLi’s Weekend Gabs - Feb4Wk98 (Feel Good)

Entry: 4.3.1998

Hi people!

This week's KOKA KOLA HOT HITS remains static. The numbers are non-moving. I haven't been shaking or grooving I guess....

Mmm... what did I do, what did I do? Somehow, the story would be more interesting if the question was the other way around - what I didn't do...? Well, I was definitely bogged down by work on Saturday whereby I only left the office at 7pm. We're having our February's month-end's closing and there are many programming reports that I need to develop for this purpose. Unfortunately, our test client - the environment where I'm using to do my programming is down starting on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - rendering myself - although free but very tensed. Somehow, still got work to do like the documentation for the programs which I thought I'd never have time to write; answering user's questions which is something I'm pretty proud of coz I'm starting to understand the SAP system pretty well (shit, I'm starting to brag about it). Also supporting on another system built by the Koreans on Powerbuilder. Learnt a tiny bit regarding connection to their central database through SQL Net. Sorry for the computer jargon - I guess jobwise, it has been rather interesting.

After 4 days of luxury - going back home early, on Saturday when the test client was up again, you can imagine the workload that was waiting for me. I really need to get some important stuff done. I also needed to visit my "si fu" ("guru" - my senior colleague who taught me SAP stuff when I first came in). She's on maternity leave and yesterday was her baby's first month celebration. At first, it seems like a number of my colleagues going along but finally, I was the only one who showed up. Everybody's busy with the end month closing. Me, hey, she's my guru.... mah. I left the office at 1.30pm to go to her condominium at Allson Klana. She stays there coz her husband's a Korean. The baby macam Korean aje. Was there for 45 minutes and came back to the office at 3.15pm. I'm pretty sad that she has to leave for Korea soon as her husband will be going back there. Also, my work has doubled and I'm pretty much alone - scary.

Today went up to KL to visit my aunt after an operation at UKM's hospital (the new hospital), somewhere in Cheras. Took the old road which passes Mantin, Beranang, Kajang, etc. It has been more than 3 years since I passed through this route. Things started to look bad at Kajang and Hulu Langat - developments here and there. Massive jam. My brother drove to the hospital and I took over for the journey back (but went back by highway).

And that raps up my weekly week's story. Or you'll like to hear the silly dream I had when I went to sleep from 5pm till 8pm just now? Guess not... God help me!!! I'm really a kaki sleeper.

Regards,
Li Li

ps. If I didn't go anywhere, I'll usually end up at the bowling alley as I don't have to worry about finding kaki bowlers. There's always a colleague of mine and a friend of mine who are ready to go anytime. Then there are the 3 Korean fellas but playing with them really is not as fun coz they'll seek to improve the game. The last time I played with them, I learnt that I have to stand behind a certain line and should take four steps before throwing the ball. I also have to respect the players next to me - when they bowl, I should wait. With so much rules... I played one of my worst games! But every cloud has a silver lining. Now, I play the right technique but just need improve my aim.
