Hi,
Disaster strikes again! I've just been a victim of a snatch case. Man wearing a black jacket on a motorcycle snatched away my handbag while I was walking up to a designated spot at the Mobil station near my rented place. Either due to sudden surprise or because the motorcycle was already making a turning, I failed to catch the plate number. I'm literally pulling my hair.
Gone is my handbag. There goes my IC and driving license for the second time. There goes my 'Emma book'. There goes my ATM cards which I had to cancel hurriedly. There goes my makeup kit. There goes my cash which was roughly RM70 (I don't normally bring this much but I thought it was handy if I were to go shopping). There goes my umbrella. There goes a day when I thought it would be a good day ahead.
I'm becoming superstitious with regards to my dress. It's
jinxed I think. I didn't have a good day when one client
didn't sign my report. I was wearing that dress. The other
day when I was absolutely late for work, I had that dress on
too. My, my... I believe if a bad incident happen to me again
wearing that dress, I vow to 'disown' it. Bad spirits. Yai!
One more thing, it's really creepy come to think of it.
I woke up that early morning and saw that my watch reads -
4:44:14 am. In Cantonese so many 'sei' or die. No wonderlah.
Other than that, I do not wish to waste unnecessary time lamenting on my misfortune. However, I do caution the readers, it can happen in the bright daylight which I was so unaware of. A lesson is learnt.
Whatever happened, I'm thankful yet again for my ex-roomate and helpful friend, Gui. I'll be forever in debt for the time you took to fetch and accompany me through the police report making ordeal.
I leave you with my account of the Awana Genting trip. My whitewater rafting adventure story will be coming up next. I had it all written at the office but I didn't bring it back with me. Be sure to check it out as it's one of my 1999 highlights. Thank goodness for it, at least I have some good memories for 1999.

------------
Just came back from my company's "away-day" at Awana Genting. Yes, most of you will ask - so how was the trip? And most of the time I will answer - OK loh - which is the case too today.
The away-day was a good opportunity for me to meet up with most of my "faceless" colleagues due to us being caught up in projects and the low opportunity to meet each other at the office. However, that was not my reason to attend this occasion at all. If you know me well, you'd know that I'm just living up to my characteristic of loving to see new places.
I'm happy to report that the place is a nice relaxing place. I
just love my room which overlooks portions of the golf course (not
that I like this scenery) and vasts lushes of green mountains
and valleys. It is so lovely that I just remembered something
from Anne of Green Gables book - "there's more scope for
imagination".
The weather was disappointingly not cold as I'd wished to experience cold weather again. Even when I was at Genting wearing a sleeveless blouse at night, the temperature did not even rival the air condition at KLCC.
I missed going to the casino as well as the motino master as my company for the night was one lady colleague with 4 children and a maid as well as another colleague who just got news that she's pregnant. Surprisingly, I wasn't disappointed at all because luckily my only expectations for the trip was to find out how Awana was.
One slight disappointment would be missing to swim at it's swimming pool as I was having my monthly 'agony' again.
The activities for the trip included a self management talk, management session regarding the company, karaoke and telematch. Unfortunately what remains in my memory would be that of the beautiful and romantic view from my room's balcony.
Regards,
Li Li
