Hi people!
At last! I savoured the opportunity to visit one of KL's most famous park. 7 of us went - Abdullah and girlfriend Hui Jian (hope I spelled that right), Chin Tiong, Gui, Keen Wu, Lai Kuan and myself. It was what one could say as a 'just do it' trip because we only confirmed of the Saturday camping trip on Thursday.
I had looked forward so much for this trip as if it would complete my wish of visiting all of Klang Valley's most famous nature spots. (I'm sure I'm wrong - there'll definitely bound to be more wonderful places to discover).
I went there in a truly hectic style. The evening before went shopping for foodstuff with Tiong and Keen Wu. Early next morning woke up at 5am to wash clothes and do some reading before departing at 6:45am to go back to Seremban.
I was very much preoccupied with work of reading up a stack of training materials and writing out a summary of the latest course work as I was due to give training for basics in ABAP/4 programming. Although Gui offered her computer for usage, I declined as I had such a strong urge to go back especially when my dad's birthday near that weekend.
And so after being home for 5 hours, I rushed up to Pudu station by bus. We were supposed to wait at Pudu at 2:30pm. When I reached central market, it was already 2:40pm. Instinct told me to get down earlier so that I could get ahead of the bus by walking to Puduraya (beat the traffic jam).
10 minutes later I was huffing and puffing meeting up with Abdullah and hello..... his girlfriend? Well, it was definitely obvious they were a couple then and I sensed that as soon as my other friends arrive, we'll start a big gossip then.....
I'm writing this account after about 2 weeks so I quite forgot the exact times when we reached the entrance of Templer's Park by a bus going to Rawang. I think we reached there 4 something and started to walk up/'into' the forest to reach the waterfalls.

What can I say...? The waterfalls was truly beautiful and we got to 'play' in it's majestic flow of rushing and glistening waters. I loved the sound of the gushing waters as they crashed onto the slippery rocks.
Looking up, there was a clearing of the canopy of tree tops and I bet it would be absolutely romantic to be basking in moonlight on the towering rocks of the waterfalls with an orchestra of splish-splashing waters plus the ever wonderful 'criket' insect noises, ahem, music in background while the stars in the skies entertain you like glittering diamonds attached on a huge black velvet canvass. Wo... getting to be like Anne of Green Gables, huh? .....
Anyway, had a swell time with the waters. There was one spot which I think is the best place for a natural massage session. The water just whacks the back of your body and the power of it is so great that you'll have difficulty trying to avoid from falling to the front.
Gui and I tried to "swim" but alas the water is just too shallow. The guys pitched two tents on a camping ground near the waterfalls. At night, we had instant noodles and some cereal and coffee drinks.
The topic of our night chat was non other than about Abdullah & his new found love of course. My other friends practically "interrogated" him on this issue about how they met and etc. I listened in background because actually I always felt that love is a personal thing and it should be up to the person to talk about it. Of course I must admit I was just as curious as my friends because we've known Abdullah for quite a long time and so must be a bit 'concerned' on his welfares. Kah kah.
Actually, we planned to question him on that night but I thought my friends were just joking. But well, they were serious and relentless too but I guess Abdullah's quite prepared for it and offered 'satisfactory?' answers with permission from Hui Jian. I shall leave out the details of this chat of course.
The next morning feeling absolutely psyched into doing some activity, I decided we should go for a jungle trek as I've heard of one at Templer's Park. Woke up at 6:30am (actually I barely slept at all as I normally am not able to sleep at a different environment on the first night). Lai Kuan was gamed into trekking as well, so after breakfast, 5 of us left for jungle trekking leaving Abdullah and HJ to "jaga kedai" (watch over the place) and of course to leave them in privacy.

None of us knew where the trek would lead us to but we kept on walking deeper into the forest because it was quite an interesting path and furthermore, the path is just running beside the river. I was hoping that we were actually on the trek to reach Bukit Takun. I think we've walked about an hour before Keen Wu announced that he felt something wriggling at his feet. And that of course means a most likely attack of leeches and that set everyone in a frenzy of checking their shoes as well. To my dismay, I found two leeches stuck between the toes of my left feet and though Gui tried to help in getting rid of them, finally I had to rigorously pulled them away with some dead leaves.
I know it's not a good idea to do that as it might cause heavy bleeding but then like I said about my Gunung Datuk Rembau trip, it's way too gross to watch them suck until full. I mentally scolded myself for forgetting to bring a lighter or salt along.
As we walked deeper into the jungle with nowhere of the end in sight, the path got less noticeable and walking thru some spider webs indicated that the jungle trek hasn't been visited for a long time.
With the emergence of leeches, we scrammed back to our camping grounds.
We left Templer's Park at about 11am I think and I was really tired when I got back to PJ. Unfortunately, I couldn't rest immediately after washing my clothes because I still had some pending job and had to go over to Gui's place to use her computer. Until today, after more than 2 weeks, I've yet to repay my debt of sleep at Templer's Park. However, it was a good trip thanks to the lovely waterfalls and of course, thanks to Keen Wu for initiating the trip.
