Throbbers are the moving icons in the upper right corner of your web browser. Your web browser uses these to show you that it is working hard at some sort of task.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer the throbber is usually a spinning globe/MS logo or "e".

Why watch the spinning globe when you can have a custom Ganbare Goemon icon. ;)
