Kyongju Nationnal Park

Location : Kyongju-shi, Kyongsangbuk-do

Kyongju was the capital of the Shilla Kingdom which was the first country to unify the Korean peninsular and governed during 57 B.C. to 935 A.D. The city is Korea's tourist mecca which attracts many foreingers.
It has a myriad of historic sites, cultural relics, legendary monuments, all of which do lively get back to the old splendid Shilla's spirit and culture.
Nowhere else has produced such a diversity of relics as Kyongju.
Each holds immense value that draws even international attentions. Kyongju is also a showcase of national treasures, valuable antiques and Buddhist culture, making it a so-called "museum without walls."

Specialties

    This rice wine was a favorite health drink for ancient commoners in Kyongju. It is recorded that during the reign
    of King Hon-gang, the 49th king of the Shilla Dynasty, commoners used chrysanthemum leaves in brewing
    Hwanggumju rice wine. Today, they produce about 54 liters of Hwanggumju a day.
