This is my youngest son Daniel and our dog Levi. Dan doesn't hunt much, he is too softhearted. He is a very caring person. This Thanksgiving we did go squirrel hunting though. As chance would have it we didn't see any squirrels but we did see some deer, Seven to be exact. Dan took his shot but missed. We scouted for sign of a hit like ethical sportsman do and were certain the deer were alright. Maybe next time. Dan can catch a mean bass though. Levi is our super Yorkie. Fearless defender of the family, providing you don't give him a back rub.

Lucky Buck

This is a seven point buck I shot that I can honestly say was just plain luck. I had just put up a tree stand and the deer was being chased by some dogs. I just was in the right place in the right time. This is the only deer I ever got from luck. Probrably the last too...

King of the Hill

This buck is a true king. He lived on a ridge that was impossible to sneak in on. He was the dominate buck there and that was his downfall. His defense was perfect. You could not sneak up on him, he had fifty escape routes and could see you coming a half a mile away. By the time you got to his domain he was gone. One day I did sneak in though, and I saw quite a few of his subordinates, great deer themselves, but he chased a doe down the ridge and I saw him. No shot. The next day I sneaked as close as I dared and called him to me. He thought I was a challenger. I was proud, to say the least. He scored 143 Pope and Young. I called a buddy of mine to see if he had room in his freezer till I was to return home and he said nope, I just got a nice buck myself. Finally he said bring him on over and we will see. I will have you know that my buck set down inside his buck's rack, cape and all.True story. What is big for me might not be so big for the next guy heh!
