The knees, the eventual downfall of Jasons great career. Knee trouble started with Jason Dunstall in 1994 with a ruptured bursa of his right knee in the opening round of 1994 against St kilda at Waverley Park. Jason missed the next month and continued the rest of the season wearing a white knee bandage. Amazingly Jason still kicked 100 goals in 1994 showing what a true champion he is.

In 1995 Jason hurt his Knee again, this time against Sydney at Waverley Park he sprined his medial ligement this time in his left knee. Dunstall limpted of Waverley Park in the second quarter and missed the next month for the Hawks. This injury was the catalyst of the Hawks missing the Finals for the first time in 13 years.

In 1996 Jason coming off a remarkable 10 goal haul against Melbourne and a sixth 100 goal season Jason played against Sydney in the finals at the MCG. Jason tangled his knee up with Andrew Dunlkley of the Swans and was strenchered of the ground. Jason had just done his anterior crucite ligamant in his left knee would need to have a full knee reconstruction. 

In 1997 Jason came back in round one after a remarkable comeback but when the hawks played against the Blues at Optus Oval jason did his left Knee again needing asecond reconstruction,

In 1998 Jason had no trouble with his left recontructed knee bu knee tendinitis in his right knee that really resticted him. After an amazing 8 goal haul (including 6 in the first quarter) against the Bulldogs Jason struggled with his knees for the rest of his final season.
