
On May 26,1990 at Waverley park the Hawks lined up against Melbourne. In the opening minutes of this round nine encounter Jason led into space and having dived for a chest then he cannoned into Earl Spadlings knee.
Jason went of the ground and later it was found out that this contact had given Jason a fractured skull. Jason missed only tenmatches in his first game back Jason wore a helmet and kicked eleven goals against the pIes showing everyone what a true champion Jason is.
In 1998 the second quarter of the Hawks round fourteen match against Carlton in the same pocket of the same ground (Optus Oval) against the same opponenet (the evil Stephen Silvagni) against the same team (Carlton), as Jason did his knee he got injured again.
Last time it was his knee and this time his collarbone, Jason was flying for the ball the evil Stephen Silvagni fell over Jason and he broke his collarbone. This injury was the catalyst for the retirement of Jasons great career.
