NEW YORK RANGERS
I am a huge New York Rangers fan so I have dedicated part of my site to them! I have been a Rangers fan for the entire 16 years of my life, all of my family supports them and a few of my relatives work at Madison Square Garden. My favorite memory is probably the same as all Rangers fans the 1994 Stanley Cup! That season the Rangers led by Mark Messier won the Cup for the first time in 54 years! During those 54 years we watched our nearby neighbors the New York Islanders win a few Lord Stanley's, so we decided it was our turn to do the same! The sad thing is since that year the Rangers haven't had many happy moments except for a few like having the privlege of Messier and Gretzky playing together for one year at the Garden.But during these last few years a lot of sad things have happened such as the departure of Mark Messier through free agency to the Canucks and most recently Wayne Gretzky the greatest player of all time to retirement.
But during this summer Neil Smith dipped is hand into the Rangers wallet and kindly brought in $20 million dollars worth of free agents, among them the highly talented Theoren Fleury and Valeri Kamensky. With these brilliant players and a few good rookies the Rangers hope to build a Cup contending team within the next few years.
