POW- powder, freshly fallen snow
SKATING- when you have one foot out of your binding and one foot in and you're pushing yourself with your back foot, normally around the lift

TWIN TIP- both tips of the board are equal in height
EFFECTIVE EDGE- the length of the edge that comes in contanct with the snow when carving
FREESTYLE- riding in the park and hitting a lot of jumps on a normal basis
FREERIDING- riding on the steeps or backcountry
