The Undertaker continues to take time off from the World Wrestling Federation as he heels a nagging groin injury and a abdrominal strain. He had been working injured for the entire summer and asked for time too heal his injuries but was not given time off due to a program with Paul Wight. For most of August and September the Undertaker did not work in the ring but rather did interviews and commentary when needed. He was booked to work the September Unforgiven pay per view but management replaced him with Davey Boy Smith a week before the pay per view and gave him the time off. Dave Meltzer reports that the WWF had hoped he would be able to make a in-ring return at Survivor Series on November 14th but plans are now for him to start appearing on television after the pay per view and return to active competition in time for the Armaggedon pay per view on December 12th. Taz and Kurt Angle are both going to be filming vignettes to hype their debuts with the company in the next few weeks as both are reported by Dave Meltzer to begin working with the company by the beginning of next year. Kurt Angle has been working in Power Pro Wrestling and has held the groups title on two occasions. Angle is touring with the World Wrestling Federation as he has been working dark matches before each set of tapings. He has been compared to a 70's style babyface while many opinions on him range from great to poor. Angle appeared on WWF television in March at a live edition of Sunday Night Heat when he attacked Tiger Ali Singh as a fan when Singh made derogatory statements about the United States. Taz remains with Extreme Championship Wrestling until the end of the year. He has been working television tapings with the company and will be at the November to Remember. Its expected that Taz will put over Rob Van Dam in a clean finish as he has been doing with Sabu in recent months since his decision to sign with the WWF. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-= __ __ ___ __ __ \ \ /\ / // __\\ \ /\ / / \ \/ // /| | \ \/ // / WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING \ // / | |___ \ // / - WCW.COM \/ \/ \___/ \/ \/ For more WCW news check out WrestlingArena.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-= Halloween+Havoc+card ? Halloween Havoc will be taking place live on pay per view from Las Vegas, Nevada. The pay per view will have live coverage as well as pictures on WrestlingArena.com throughout the night that will begin at 8PM eastern. The card for tonights show is Sting(c) vs. Hulk Hogan for the WCW World title Konnan/Rey Mysterio Jr(c) vs. First Family for WCW tag titles Disco Inferno(c) vs. Lash LeRoux for WCW Crusierweight title Bret Hart vs. The Total Package Sid Viscous(c) vs. Bill Goldberg Chris Benoit(c) vs. Rick Steiner for the WCW TV title Ric Flair vs. Diamond Dallas Page Brad Armstrong vs. Berlyn Nitro+confusion+reigned+on+Monday+ ? Dave Meltzer reports that confusion reigned during Monday Nitro as Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera booked Monday Nitro for the first time. Many were not aware of changes in the booking plans until the show was in broadcast and others were not able to get clarification on if they were too play heel or face before they went out. Ric Flair was one of the workers that was not sure about his role. Flair has been packaged in recent weeks as a face but was not sure if he was supposed to play heel for a face Filthy Animals stable. Kidman, Konnan, Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero were under the assumption that they were to play face but the Philadelphia, PA crowd sided with Flair in the 4 on 1 attack. Backstage is also continuing to be worked by Hogan as he did not attend Nitro last Monday and the company has for the most part dropped the main event from being mentioned. Dave Meltzer reports that WCW Live has been asked to work on their radio show that Hogan is going to leave the company due to the influence of Vince Russo. Many workers are not sure if Hogan will be at tonights Halloween Havoc pay per view or if he does show, how the match will go. Hogan has many times along with Eric Bischoff attempted to work wrestlers backstage in the style that the late Brian Pillman did. Brian Pillman worked so many in the company though that he ended up being released when the angle turned into reality. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-= OTHER NEWS (ECW, JAPAN, INDEPENDENT, AND MORE) For more ECW/Indy news check out WrestlingArena.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-= Returns+mark+ECW+Arena+show+ ? Extreme Championship Wrestling returned to the ECW Arena for the first time since August 28th in what will be remembered as a night that two champions returned to the company as Mikey Whipwreck worked the nights first match in a loss to ECW champion Mike Awesome and then during the main event, the man most associated with ECW, The Sandman returned to make the save for Tommy Dreamer. The arena show along with TNN tapings the night before in Poughkeepsie, New York rounded out television broadcasts leading into the November to Remember pay per view in Buffalo, New York. Its not known if Mikey Whipwreck will be a part of the company long term or if his appearance was a one time appearance as Paul Heyman told Dave Meltzer and Wade Keller that he had no long term interest in Whipwreck after he was released from World Championship Wrestling in late summer. Vic Grimes was backstage at the show but did not appear in front of cameras. Rumors have been circulating that he would end up in ECW to work with the company until he was set to go full time with the World Wrestling Federation, Grimes has been working with the Memphis based Power Pro Wrestling for the past year and has been a part of the company up until recently.
