Shane Battier

Shane Battier is one of the players left from the Duke team that had Brand, Maggette, Avery and Langdon. By staying in school until his senior year, Battier has developed into a complete player. He can play both offense and defense well.

When he first came to duke, Battier was more of a power forward and a rebounder. Now after his junior year, Battier has developed an outside game to. He has the shooting touch from everywhere. He has develop the skills to drive and take the ball in the basket. His offensive game has matured over the three years in Duke.
To go with his improving offensive game, Battier is one of the best defenders in the country. He can both defend off the dribble and in the low block. He has lead the team in taking charges. This just shows that Battier would give up his body for the betterment of the team.

Entering his senior year, Battier will be the leader. Last year, he had Carawell beside him to help the young team mature. In the incoming year, no doubt that it will be Battier that will set an example to the younger players. He will display the leadership he always had in him.
Expect Battier to even more improve during his senior year. By being the main man of the favorite to win it all next year, Battier will continue to do everything which is scoring, playing defense and showing leadership. Battier should have an All-American type of season. He could get numerous votes for the Player of the Year award. Expect Battier to lead Duke back to the Final Four.
