Chris Porter

Chris Porter is the player that has dropped the most in this draft. Before the start of the college season, Porter was said to be an All-American. However, Auburn did not do to well in the regular season. Porter did not have a big year as everyone expected. Even before the season ended, Porter was suspended by the NCAA for taking money from a agent. Recently, in the draft camp, they measured his height and they found out that he was barely 6'5. He was suppose to be a power forward, but now he is even to small to play the small forward spot. All of this issues has pulled the draft status of Porter considerably.

However, Chris Porter has talent. He may need a lot of practice to improve his game. He has to improve his outside shooting and dribbling skills to be able to play the three spot. He knows how to rebound and bang under the boards. However, he still has to learn to defend in laterals so he can stay with the Pippen's who take you of the dribble.

Last summer, Chris Porter worked on his three point shooting. They say that he did it well. We have yet to see him use the shoot as he was always at the low block at Auburn. This shooting will be used in the pro level where it will be tested and needed.

Although Chris Porter's stock has considerably dropped. The fact remains that Porter has talent. He will not fold and will prove himself as a steal in the mid to late first round. He would learn to play three and become an Antawn Jamison type of player. Although he would not be one of the best players in the league, he services would be seeked.
