The Duke-UNC Rivalry looks to be stronger than ever.

For the 2000-01' season, the Duke-UNC seems to be much stronger. During last year, UNC was suppose to be the strong team and Duke was in a rebuilding year with the great freshman class. However, as the season went on, it was Duke which emerged as the regular season #1. Yet, UNC outperformed the bluedevils in the NCAA Tournament. UNC reached the Final Four and Duke bowed out to the eventual runner-up Florida Gators.

The 2000-01 season is a new season. With Boozer, Battier, Williams and Dunleavy, Duke looks to have the upper hand over the tarheels. However, UNC looks to have the better freshman class. Chris Duhon is going to be the freshman impact of the bluedevils, like Forte was last year. Does this look like a role reversal? Well, it remains to be seen. However, when Duke and UNC go head to head, disregard the records, because it will be as exciting as any NCAA game could ever be.
