HORSES
I love horses. All kinds, all shapes, all sizes and all attitudes. The biggest horse that I've ever seen is Zeus, a Missouri Trotter. He's over 17 hands. He's at Running Horse Farm, where we keep our horse, Christy.
Running Horse Farm is a rescue barn, and they have all sorts of horses there, most of which have been rescued. There's Andromeda, Petey, Simpson, Chubby, Lafayette, Missy, Zeus, Teddy Bear, Shorty, Chipper, Big Ben, Ricky Ricardo, Casey (Special Delivery), Londonderry (Derry), Lucy and Spice. They also have 16 cats and 18 dogs at the farm.
Being around the rescue barn has gotten me interested in animal abuse. It's very important to me that horses, or any other animal, not be abused. For imformation on equine abuse and equine rescue, please click below:
I started taking lessons two years ago. My mother started doing EMT coverage for horse shows at Running Horse Farm and for the Northern New England Hunter Jumper Association. I went with her one Saturday morning, and she hasn't been able to pry me out of the barns since! I took my first lesson about a week later, was in a show within a couple of weeks, and went from leadline walk classes to beginner canter in less than two months, winning an honorable mention for most improved rider of the year from the farm.
I enjoy showing, and have even won a division championship in one show, and a reserve champion in another!
I was recently fortunate enough to spend some time training with Wally Conover at a clinic he held at Running Horse Farm. Christy and I are still working together whenever I get a chance.
