In 1998, Harry scored the only goal for the Socceroos (The Australian National Team) against Iran, in the first leg of the world cup qualifier match, player in Teheran.

In the second leg of the match, played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)on the 29th November 1998, he also scored one of Australia's two goals. But the end result was a draw, and on the away rule Iran won the match. Unfortunatly, Socceroos didn't make it to France '98.

In 1998, Hary signed a contract with Leeds United which runs until the year 2002. When his Leeds contract expires, it is believed that he will probably move back home to Australia.
