RULES

Official matches ANYTIME, no TITLE matches ANYTIME(only at cards), no IP spoofing, no scripting/buffering, no whining or flooding(3 day suspension), and no channel takeovers.

Ok, we added some new stuff, here it is...............

When wresling a match, do not do any of the following:

a)do not do a /me applies a pin, if you do this, it will not count as a pin or submission

b)do not do a /me covers in it, if you do this, it will also not count

c)you may not reverse a pin into anything, so if you get pinned, either kickout, grab the ropes, or stay down and lose

d)do not hide a pin anywhere in an action like /me superduper pins and poses then kisses his muscles

e)do not nick change, if you do so, you will be kicked and possibly banned

f)do not pin right after a kickout, the referee will not count it

The board has given the referee the power to deny any questionable pins/covers or submissions as long as the ref has good reason

When you wrestle, please don't pin every other move. Please at least do at least three moves during each pin/submission

Okay, this is a little warmup about IRC wrestling. If you've never wrestled on IRC before, I suggest that you not only read all of this, but observe a few matches as well. It's alot easier if you know what the matches look like. Anyway, read through this first. By the way, when I talk about doing something, you can always use some slight variation. Like for example, instead of "HBK covers", it could be "HBK goes for the pin". The way this matches run is through actions. To do an action on IRC, type "/me" followed by what you want to do. For Example, if my nickname was Dan:

Input: /me kicks Shawn in the stomach Output: Dan kicks Shawn in the stomach

Input: /me nails Bret with a DDT Output: Dan nails Bret with a DDT

Singles Matches

Now, let's just start out with a regular, singles matchup. Here's the way it works: You just wrestle a match just like someone would in areal-life wrestling league like the WWF or WCW. You hit each other with moves, like this:

Shawn hits Bret with a flying elbowdrop

Bret nails Shawn with a russian legsweep

Bret nails Shawn with a kneedrop

Shawn hits a clothesline on Bret

The match goes like that. You can also counter moves, like this:

Shawn goes up to the top rope

Bret moves out of the way.

There are four ways to win, just like in real wrestling: pinfall, submission, countout, disqualification. Let's go over how each one would work.

Pinfalls

First off, pinfall: This is probably the best way to try to win. When you want to try to pin someone, just type "/me covers". The referee will then count. If you are being pinned, then you must kick out of it by typing "/me kicks out" before the ref counts to three. Here's an example of someone kicking out of a pin:

Shawn nails Bret with a superkick.

Shawn covers

Ref: 1

Ref: 2

Bret kicks out

Now here's an example of someone getting pinned:

Shawn nails Bret with a superkick

Shawn covers

Ref: 1

Ref: 2

Ref: 3

Ref: The winner of this bout, via pinfall, Shawn Michaels!!!

One thing to remember about pinning, or any other kind of win for that matter, is not to do it too much. If you try to pin someone every five seconds, the ref may get annoyed with you and slow down his count.

Also, added, WHEN YOU WANT TO DO A COMBO, SAY WITH A PIN!!! Like if you wanted to do a perfect plex, do it

/me gives Bret a perfect plex with a pin

If you say "with a bridge" or "a bridging perfect plex", that wont cut it.So if you want to do a combo move or a pin with a power move, say "with a pin".

Submissions

Now, onto submissions: When someone puts you in a submission hold, you have until the count of five to get out of it. You can get out of it two different ways: By either slipping out, or making it to the ropes. To slip out, type "/me slips out", to go for the ropes, type "/me grabs the rope". Here's an example of someone getting out of a submission:

Bret applies the Sharpshooter to Shawn

Ref: 1

Ref: 2

Ref: 3

Ref: 4

Shawn slips out

Now here's an example of someone submitting:

Bret applies the Sharpshooter to Shawn

Ref: 1

Ref: 2

Ref: 3

Ref: 4

Ref: 5

Ref: The winner of this bout, via submission, Bret Hart!!!

Also added, when doing a submission, always say "applies" or "puts in". Dont just say "/me sharpshooter" say "/me puts Shawn in the sharpshooter" or "/me applies the sharpshooter".

Countouts

Now, onto countouts: To throw someone out of the ring, type "/me throws (opponent's name here) out of the ring". The referee will

then count to ten. If you're outside of the ring, then you need to get in before the referee counts to ten. To do this, type "/me rolls

back in the ring" or "/me gets back in the ring". This is an example of someone getting in before the ten count:

Shawn throws Bret out of the ring

Ref: 1

Ref: 2

Ref: 3

Ref: 4

Ref: 5

Ref: 6

Ref: 7

Ref: 8

Ref: 9

Bret climbs back into the ring.

Now, here's an example of someone getting counted out:

Shawn throws Bret out of the ring

Ref: 1

Ref: 2

Ref: 3

Ref: 4

Ref: 5

Ref: 6

Ref: 7

Ref: 8

Ref: 9

Ref: 10

Ref: The winner of this bout, via countout, Shawn Michaels!!!

Double Countouts

Now, you can also have double countouts. This is where both men are outside of the ring when the referee counts to ten. Let's say that wrestler #1 throws wrestler #2 outside the ring, the referee would of course start counting to ten. But let's see that on the count of five, wrestler #1 goes outside as well. If both of them are still outside the ring when the referee counts to ten, then the match is called a double countout and is declared a tie. If one of the wrestlers gets back in the ring before the count of ten, then the wrestler still outside the ring gets counted out. The best way to look at countouts is this: Once one wrestler leaves the ring, the count starts. If anyone is still outside the ring when he counts to ten, then they are counted out.

Disqualifications

Well, let's move onto disqualifications. A disqualification is basicly losing a match due to doing something that is not allowed or illegal in a wrestling match. This includes:

pulling the opponent's hair

using a foreign object against your opponent

disobeying the referee or other UCW officials

nuking, flooding, disconnecting, or doing any other IRC teachnique to your opponent that would hurt his ability in the match OR having someone do it for you

any other action which the UCW staff decides to be good reason for a disqualification

Also, doing things like using the guardrail, ringsteps, or ringpole are allowed up to a certain extent. You can use them some, but not excessively. If the referee feels that you have been using them too much, the referee will first give you a warning, if you do it again, then you may be disqualified.

The number one thing to remember about disqualifications is this: YOU HAVE TO BE AN IDIOT TO GET DISQUALIFIED. It's not hard to keep yourself from doing one of these things, and there really is no need to do most of these things since they really don't help you in the match.

Double Disqualifications

It is possible to have double disqualifications. It would be kind of hard to have these through actions in a match. The main cause would probably be if two people started trying to nuke each other during the match or something similar to that.

Throwing out a match

There may be times when things get a little bit hectic or crazy, or some other circumstance in which the referee and UCW officials cannot keep control and the match will be completely thrown out like it never happened. In this case, the match will not show up on either one of the wrestler's records, even as a tie. If the match was called off due to the wrestlers actions, then the match will probably never take place until the UCW officials get things sorted out and decide to reschedule the match. But if the match was not due to something done by a wrestler, then chances are that the match will be rescheduled very soon, possibly for later on in that same card.

Gimmick Matches

In matches that are no disqualification, no countout, or no submission, it isn't that complicated: The matches are the same except you can't win or lose through that technique. In a no submission match, you can't win by submission. In a no countout match, you can stay out of the ring for as long as you want. And in a no disqualification match, you can do or use anything you want (EXCEPT FOR NUKING, FLOODING, OR SOME OTHER IRC ACTION WHICH CAN BE USED AGAINST YOUR OPPONENT OR HAVING ANOTHER WRESTLER INTERFERE IN THE MATCH).

Cage Matches

Okay, first of all, in cage matches, there are automatically no countouts and no disqualifications. Now, there are three different types of cage matches: pinfall only, escape only, and both escape and pin. In a pinfall only, you can only win by pin or submission. In an escape only, you can only win by escaping the cage. To do this, you can climb the cage by typing something like "/me climbs". The ref will then start to count to seven. Your opponent must then stop you before the seven count. I think it's pretty easy to understand.

We may sometimes have other types of matches, like ladder matches, casket matches, falls count anywhere matches, or some other type of gimmick match. If we do, then the rules will be posted on this webpage.

Tag Matches

Time to explain tag team matches. Tag team matches are pretty much the same, except for the fact that the wrestlers switch. Here's how it works: One wrestler from each team starts out in the ring. They wrestle just like the would in a singles match. The only difference is that they can tag out to their partners when they want to and their partner will come into the ring against their opponents. To tag out to your partner, type "/me tags (your partner's name here)" or "/me makes a tag". Now, you ARE allowed to double-team an opponent to a certain extent, but if you do it too much, or if you don't listen to the referee when he tells you to stop, YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED. There are certain times when you cannot tag out to your partner:

when you are on the outside of the ring

when you have someone in a submission hold

when you are in a submission hold

Here is an example of part of a tag matchup:

Shawn nails Bret with an elbowdrop

Shawn tags out to Hunter

Hunter puts Bret in a sleeperhold

Bret slips out

Bret nails him with a DDT

Bret tags out to Owen

Bret and Owen nail Hunter with a double backdrop

Bret leaves the ring

I think that pretty well explains it. If you have a six man tag match or more, then things are exactly the same.

Other Stuff

There are a few other things that just didn't come up so far that need to be explained:

You cannot do the same move over and over and over.

You cannot do alot of multiple moves at once

The referee may sometimes pause a match temporarily to give instructions to the wrestlers or take care of something.

ALL REFEREE AND UCW STAFF MEMBER'S DECISIONS ARE FINAL. You can feel free to debate the ending of a match, as long as you do it in a calm way and don't take up other people's time, but chances are that the offical won't change his postition.
