There is only one kind of person, he said, who accepts
or rejects the mythos in which he lives. And the definition of that person,
when he has rejected the mythos, is “insane”. To go outside the mythos is to
become insane. The scientific point of view has wiped out every
other view to a point where they all seem primitive. Modern man has his ghost and spirits too, you know. Culture-bearing books challenge cultural value
assumption and often to do so at the time when the culture in favour of their
