WEEK SIX
Monday, Sept. 14th
: Morning practice for ALL of those NOT running the Virginia Ten Miler. 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. JOIN US! Reminder that you may drive down the hill at this early hour but please do not during afternoons unless urgent, thank you! Students that pull behind the school for showers need to have cars moved by 7:30 a.m. Girls are reminded to not overload circuits with hair-dryers. Boys are reminded of their behavior expectations in shower/locker room….3:30 afternoon practice again for all non-Va. 10-Milers. Speedwork on the track. This is your opportunity to improve. As the old saying goes: "The only way to get fast, is to run fast!" Coordinate ride pick-up by 5:15.Ten-Milers are to meet at the E.C. Glass parking lot at 6:00 p.m. with Coach Weimer.
Tuesday, Sept. 15th
: Meet in the weight room at 3:30. After a quick meeting and some fine-tuning we will disperse for our Point-To-Point course practice run (and some minor work). Those needing extra miles can run to the course, others can arrange for rides from the parking lot at 4:00. After practice, please arrange on being picked up at 5:15-ish at the course. Reminder that this is also "Back To School Night" (I think???).
Wednesday, Sept. 16t
h: Cross-Country Dual Meet vs.Staunton River. Athletes can either jog or walk to the course (good way to warm-up) or arrange for rides. We will not arrange a bus for this one-mile trip. We could use a parent volunteer to direct parking. This is a trial run for us and we will work out the "kinks"…arrangements are also being made for a "porta-john" and gravel at the creek crossings. Race time is approx. 5:00 with all girls running first. Parents & spectators are asked to stay off the course and to remain on the observation area. Bring your lounge chairs & binoculars, sit back and enjoy. Also, PLEASE NO SMOKING ANYWHERE INSIDE THE GATE.
Thursday, Sept. 17th
: Weight Room; 3:30…Rides by 5:15 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 18th:
5:30/6:00 a.m. practice for all. 6@6. Those not racing tomorrow are strongly encouraged to run on your own (with teammates) in the afternoon also.
Saturday, Sept. 18th
: William Campbell Cross-Country Invitational. This is an extremely important meet for our varsity since this is the site of the Region III Championships in early November…..Two buses will depart at 6:45 a.m.8:00 Course Walk
