MadDogs Thunder Report

From Casper, WY, Thunder returned to TBS this week after a two week
hiatus due to the Goodwill Games. Thanks for a lot of that really neat
summer ice skating, Ted Turner...
The show began with a recap of Nitro, including clips from the DDP saga
as well as the reappearance of Sting in his white face paint. However,
the Giant was quickly out to wrestle Lizmark, Jr. in what could only be
described as a handicap match for Lizmark, Jr. MATCH: The Giant v. Lizmark, Jr.
This match wasn't worth the time it took for the men to walk out to
the ring. Lizmark tried to attack the Giant, but was quickly caught
and choke slammed by the Giant. WINNER: The Giant by pinfall
The Giant went on to taunt Goldberg and say that he would be sure to
have him high up in the choke slam again at Road Wild. Immediately
after the Giant left, the Wolfpac entered in the form of Luger, who
revealed that it was Hall who had hit him from behind on Nitro. He
challenged the nWo Hollywood members to a brawl at Thunder, and was then
joined by Sting and Konnan. Sting was back to his old Wolfpac paint and
tights, squashing any hopes that he might return to WCW.
Next, we saw Malenko come out to referee a match. He was stopped by
Jericho and accused of being unfair. Jericho said he would watch
Malenko ref the match, and then decide what kind of a ref he would be.
MATCH: Juventud Guerrera v. Psychosis
This match began as a great one, and Malenko called it right down the
middle, true to his word. However, when Malenko's back was turned,
Jericho hit Juvi from outside the ring with the belt, and Psychosis
was able to execute a leg drop from the top rope. Although Malenko
knew Jericho had interfered, he had no choice but to make the count and
declare Psychosis the winner.
WINNER: Psychosis by pinfall
The next segment was Bischoff's nWo Nitecap, and as usual, accompanied
by Miss Elizabeth, he spent hid monologue making fun of Leno. This
time, though, he decided to attack Kimberly and DDP as well. After
enough comments about Kimberly to make any normal man insane, DDP came
out and flew across the table at Bischoff, whereupon he dismantled not
only Bischoff but the Nitecap set as well. Security came out and pulled
DDP off, then led him away as the Giant came in to pick up what was left
of Bischoff.
MATCH: Meng v. Jim "Hacksaw" Duggan
A good start to this match proved to be futile when Jimmy Hart led in
his troops, The Barbarian and Hugh Morrus to attack Meng. After a few
seconds of attacking Meng, Hacksaw reentered the ring with his trusty
2x4 to make the save. Hart and his goons ran out, chased by Meng, and
there was no winner.
WINNER: No contest (DQ)
nWo Hollywood members Curt Hennig, Rick Rude, Scott Hall, Scott Norton,
Brian Adams, and Vincent then came out to taunt Goldberg as well as the
Wolfpac. They accepted Luger's challenge, and the main event was set as
a three man tag match between Luger, Sting, and Konnan, and Hennig,
Hall, and Brian Adams.
MATCH: Stevie Ray v. Steve "Mongo" McMichael
With the T.V. belt not on the line, apparently, Stevie Ray controlled
the pace of the match at first, but Mongo came back to deliver some
vicious shoulder tackles. Then, suddenly, Chavo appeared with Stevie
Ray's notary stamp and said that he had made himself not only a
driver's license, but a set of documents making him the T.V. champ.
Stevie Ray followed Chavo out after a brief tussle, and Mongo won bycount out.
WINNER: Mongo by count out
Tony Schiavone came out next to interview Rick Steiner, who stated that
he was very angry, and was ready to hurt his brother even worse.
MATCH: Saturn v. Sick Boy and Riggs
In a handicap match set up by Raven, Saturn did all he could do to
stop the two FLock members, who were accompanied by their longtime
ninny Lodi. Saturn was in trouble a few times, but eventually was
able to deliver a Death Valley Driver to Sick Boy and get the pin.
WINNER: Saturn by pinfall
After the match, Raven came out and delivered an Even Flow DDT to
Saturn, leaving him cold in the ring.
MATCH: Disco Inferno w/ Tokyo Magnum v. Eddy Guerrero
A good match ruined by intereference, Disco was basically taken apart
by Eddy except for a few choice moments where Disco got off some good
moves, including a big pile driver. However, Eddy was able to give
him his Brain Buster Suplex, then went to the top for the Froggy
Splash. Tokyo Magnum tried to push Eddy down, but instead pushed him
right onto Disco.
WINNER: Eddy Guerrero by pinfall
After the match, Buff called the show and asked to speak to Rick
Steiner, who he informed that Scott would not be able to wrestle at the
pay per view. Everyone knew it was another sham, and Buff was just
laughing. Schiavone cut the phone line, and Rick left to return to
plotting his brother's demise.
Hogan then came out to taunt DDP again, who of course, was already
gone. He said some more derrogatory remarks about Kimberly, then left
to go apply his Rogaine and take his Geritol.
MATCH: Lex Luger/Sting/Konnan v. Scott Hall/Curt Hennig/Brian Adams
A great match with many twists and turns, no one seemed to have
control until sting came in and dismantled the entire group of
Hoganites. The match erupted into a frenzy of fighting, with no one
really wrestling. Konnan applied the Tequila Sunrise to Brian Adams,
but Hennig made the save before Adams submitted. Eventually, though,
Konnan able to make a cradle roll into a pin, and won the match for
the Wolfpac.
WINNER: Konnan by pinfall over Brian Adams
After the match ended, the Wolfpac beat the rest of the Hollywood
members until the show ended. Finally, a show where Hollywood doesn't
get the last word in...
