 When I was eight years old, I watched a lot of Power Rangers, but this Japanese kid show has a hold on young kids to even young teens!!! I don't understand it, but this TV show swept America by storm and seems to be a favorite of any kid. Every school hall, someone's discussing an episode with friends or trading merchandise. It went from a fear of Japanese parents due to an episode causing epileptic seizures to the most proclaimed kids show of 1999. Pokemon started of a Japanese video game series that was never heard of in America and was very popular among the gamers. Like several video game series, it started it's own show which, like all, was doomed to failure. Even Mario's tv show failed. But Pokemon took America by storm. Now anything Pokemon is very popular. Pokemon can be viewed on your local WB station at 8/7 Central in the morning, and 4:30 and 5:30/3:30 and 4:30 Central time in the afternoon. I do urge parents to watch this show with their kids. To me it is a cartoon version of cock fighting. You train animal like creatures to beat the crap out of each other. |
