JERSEY CITY- The third time was the charm.
New Jersey finally figured out the Steaks and were able to coast their
way to their second Super Bowl appearance. The Steaks fail to get
over the hump again, losing yet another division championship. Coach
Loeffler's job may be in jeopardy. The Pants, meanwhile, can end
this storybook season perfectly with one more win. |
Marshall Faulk provides 2 TDs and 115 yards to
the Pants' effort. |
Gary Anderson kicks 6 FGs to put
Oregon over the top. |

BOISE- This game was exciting all the way to the finish.
As expected, Cunningham & Carter provided the Bags with a scoring burst,
but what they didn't expect was 6 field goals from Gary Anderson!
Add a defensive TD for Oregon and a brilliant move to substitute Trent
Green for Kordell, and it adds up to a close win by the Donors. Idaho
fails to be the first Super Bowl Champion to even make it back to the big
game.

Super Bowl VIII

Each team has been here once before: Oregon won Super
Bowl I in 1991 and hasn't returned since, New Jersey lost Super Bowl VI
two years ago. The Pants come into this one strong at every position,
while Oregon has a raging QB controversy at the worst possible time.
Can Kordell bounce back against a weak Bengal team, or should Green get
the nod again? It says here it doesn't matter. Look for the
Pants to score 40+, Oregon will be lucky to get 30.
