1998 WFFL Wildcard Playoffs

Iowa Bundle 42
Salisbury Steaks  57
SALISBURY-  On paper, the Steaks looked too hurt to win this one, but they got solid performances from back-up receivers Tony Martin and Leslie Shepherd, and their defense scored twice.  Iowa put up some nice numbers, scoring 42 points, but it wasn't enough.  The Bundle needs to re-group and gear up for next year.

Eastern Division Championship: Is the fourth time a charm?  In the storied history of the WFFL, the most frustrated team has to be the Salisbury Steaks.  This year they advance to their third consecutive Eastern Division Championship game, and their fourth in five years!  And they've yet to play in a Super Bowl.  They match up against their arch rival New Jersey New Pants New Shoes, who tore the league up this year, but lost in both of their meetings with Salisbury.  Look for this one to be a slugfest.

Miami's defense scores 2 TD's to help push the
Steaks over the top.

Moss scores three TDs
Oregon Donors 60
Hawaii Punch 48
MAUI- Half way through the season, Hawaii offered 3 quality players to the Donors in exchange for Randy Moss.  Right now, Oregon is thankful they passed.  Otherwise, the result of this game would have been reversed, and the Donors would be missing a no-brainer protected player next year.  Forget Kordell.  Moss, Moulds & Glenn combine for 44 points!  The Punch, like the other Smith team, played really well this week, putting up 48 (42 if the referee's didn't give Vinny a TD).

Western Division Championship: The Idaho Bags are trying to become the first team to repeat as champions.  Like the Pants in the East, however, they have to beat a team that they lost to twice in the regular season.  If there is a perfect match-up to defend against Randall Cunningham, it's got to be Randy Moss.  This one will come down to supporting cast members, and Oregon has an edge.
