A União Soviética conquistou 5 títulos: masculino 1976, 1988 e 1992 (pela equipe unificada da República da antiga URSS) e feminino em 1976 e 1980.
A Coréia do Sul também venceu dois titulos femininos, em 1988 e 1992.

O maior número de títulos masculinos em recinto fechado é quatro, pela Romênia 1961, 1964, 1970 e 1974.
A Alemanha/Alemanha Ocidental conquistou o título em recinto aberto por 5 vezes entre 1938 e 1966, e em recinto fechado por 2 vezes 1938 e 1978.
Três títulos femininos foram obtidos por:
Romênia 1956 - 1960 (ambos em recinto aberto) e 1962; Alemanha Oriental 1971, 1975, 1978 e a União Soviética 1982, 1986, 1990.

Copa dos Campeões Europeus

O SPARTAK DE KIEV, União Soviética, conquistou 13 títulos europeus entre 1970 e 1988.
O VFL Gremmerslach, da Alemanha Ocidental, possui o recorde de 5 títulos obtidos em 1967, 1970-71, 1974 e 1983, e é também o único time a conquistar todos os 3 troféus europeus: Copa dos Campeões Europeus, Copa dos Campeões da Copa Européia e a Copa IHF (Federação Internacional de Handball).

Western Alemanha/Alemanha conquered the title in enclosure opened by 5 times between 1938 and 1966, and in enclosure closed by 2 times 1938 and 1978.
Three feminine titles were obtained for:
Romania 1956 - 1960 (both in open enclosure) and 1962; Germany Oriental 1971, 1975, 1978 and the Soviet Union 1982, 1986, 1990.

SPARTAK OF KIEV, Soviet Union, conquered 13 European titles between 1970 and 1988.
VFL Gremmerslach, of Alemanha Ocidental, possesses the record of 5 titles obtained in 1967, 1970-71, 1974 and 1983, and he/she is also the only team to conquer all the 3 European trophies: Cup of the European Champions, Cup of the Champions of the European Cup and the Copa IHF (International Federation of Handball).
