O handebol é um jogo rápido e
vibrante, considerado o esporte coletivo mais rápido do mundo.
É preciso ter olhos rápidos para seguir a bola enquanto ela é
manipulada pelos jogadores.

A quadra
A quadra é em geral feita de madeira envernizada e mede 40
metros de comprimento por 20 metros de largura, a linha mais
importante é a que define a área do gol, um semi-círculo que
se estende por seis metros a partir da linha divisória do gol, a
área demarcada por esta linha é chamada de área do goleiro,
nesta área somente o goleiro pode ficar, atacantes e defensores
devem ficar fora dela, e não podem nem sequer pisar na linha,
entretanto eles podem pular de fora para dentro dela, desde que
soltem a bola enquanto estiver no ar.
Outra marcação importante da quadra é a marca dos sete metros,
onde são cobradas as faltas máximas, há também um alinha
pontilhada a nove metros do gol que cruza a quadra de lado a lado
e onde são cobrados os tiros livres, que são faltas menores.
O gol mede 3 metros de largura por 2 metros de altura.
A bola
A bola de handebol é feita de material não escorregadio, tem
58,4 cm de circunferência e tem massa de 453,6 gramas para
homens.
Para mulheres ela tem 56,4 cm de circunferência e sua massa é
de 368,5 gramas. A bola usada para homens é chamada de H3 e para
mulheres é H2, porém para categorias inferiores usa-se uma bola
menor, de acordo com a categoria, exemplo: na categoria infantil
masculino utiliza-se uma bola H2.
Curiosidade: No handebol de alto nível, costuma-se usar um tipo
de cola especial para handebol, importada da Alemanha, na ponta
dos dedos para facilitar o domínio da bola.
Os jogadores e suas
posições
Cada time possui 12 jogadores, 6 jogadores de linha e mais um
goleiro, que além de ser o único jogador que pode tocar a bola
com os pés (dentro da área), pode atuar como um jogador comum.
Além disso cada time tem mais 5 reservas. O jogador não pode:
Tocar a bola com qualquer parte da perna abaixo do joelho, Dar
mais do que três passos com a bola na mão, sem batê-la no
chão, assim como no basquete um drible duplo é tido como falta
e o time perde a posse de bola.
As posições de
ataque do handebol são as seguintes:
Goleiro, Ponta-esquerda, que joga bem no canto da quadra do lado
esquerdo, Meia-esquerda, que joga um pouco atrás do ponta
esquerda, Armador-central, a posição mais importante do time,
todas as jogadas passam pela mão dele, Meia-direita, assim como
o meia-esquerda, porém do lado direito, Ponta-direita, que joga
logicamente na ponta direita da quadra, Pivô, joga infiltrado na
defesa do adversário, joga fazendo bloqueios para os
companheiros e recebendo bolas na linha dos 6 metros.
O jogo
O jogo de handebol é constituído por dois tempos de 30 minutos
com 10 minutos de intervalo entre eles, nas últimas olimpíadas
de Atlanta foi permitida a utilização do tempo, como no
voleibol.
O número de substituições é ilimitado mas elas tem de ser
feitas no espaço de 4,45 metros que cada time possui
especialmente para isso, elas são feitas também sem a
interrupção do jogo e é preciso que um jogador saia
completamente da quadra antes que outro entre em seu lugar, caso
ocorra uma substituição incorreta, ela deve ser avisada ao
árbitro da partida pela mesa do jogo, que é constituída por um
cronometrista e um marcador de gols. E então o jogador que
cometeu a infração recebe uma punição de 2 minutos.
O objetivo básico do jogo é manobrar o adversário passando a
bola hábil e rapidamente entre os jogadores e quando possível
arremessá-la ao gol, marcando um ponto caso a bola ultrapasse
completamente a linha de gol. É preciso muito jogo de corpo para
enganar o adversário e deixar um companheiro livre.
Como no futebol e no basquete, é preciso mudar rapidamente de
direção e velocidade e usar passes inesperados (às vezes no
maior estilo NBA) para atingir o gol.
As punições
As punições no handebol são bastante rígidas e variam desde a
advertência com o cartão amarelo até a desqualificação com o
cartão vermelho. A seguir você terá uma lista com todas as
punições possíveis:
Cartão amarelo
(advertência)
Serve como advertência a um jogador, é usado em algumas faltas,
por reclamação ou quando o jogador não deixa a bola no lugar
após a marcação do árbitro.
Dois minutos
O jogador que receber esta punição deve ficar por dois minutos
fora do jogo, sem direito à substituição, ou seja, seu time
fica com um jogador a menos durante dois minutos, esta punição
é dada a faltas violentas ou a substituições incorretas.
O jogador também recebe dois minutos caso for receber o segundo
amarelo e caso o time já tenha dois amarelos, o próximo cartão
será substituído por um dois minutos.
Cartão vermelho
(desqualificação)
Quando um jogador recebe um cartão vermelho ele deve retirar-se
da quadra, inclusive do bando de reservas e não pode mais voltar
à mesma.
O time fica com um jogador a menos durante dois minutos e depois
desse tempo pode completar o time com outro jogador que não seja
aquele que foi expulso. Um jogador não pode receber mais de
três dois minutos durante uma partida, se isso acontecer ele é
desqualificado do jogo, como se tivesse recebido um cartão
vermelho.
