   Dark Reign 2 will introduce gamers to the first true 3D
   RTS game. Set against the backdrop of the war
   between the powerful Jovian Detention Authority and the
   upstart Sprawlers, Dark Reign 2 is the prequel to the
   conflict between the Imperium and Freedom Guard.
   Incorporating a new game engine, Dark Reign 2 will
   introduce new strategic elements, incredible graphics,
   new RTS enhancements and spectacular multiplayer
   gameplay that will set the standard for all RTS games to
   come.

You can get really close to your troops

   New Strategy:
   Day and night missions: Complete your missions before
   the sun goes down because the rules change at night.
   Full 3D terrain: Maps become living worlds. Use terrain
   to your advantage. Hide troops under trees in the
   swamp, or position your artillery on high ground to
   control the passes to your base.

   Incredible Graphics:
   Highly detailed 3D units: Each unit in the game is full
   three-dimensional object with incredible textures and
   animations. Thanks to Intel's Multi-Resolution Mesh
   technology, this detail comes to you at no loss of game
   speed.
   Phenomenal Effects: Explosions, lighting, and
   animations all take advantage of 3D acceleration.

   RTS Enhancements:
   Squad Management: Group your troops into squads to
   take advantage of new squad-level commands such as
   formations and tactical orders.
   New Resource Management System: Call in
   reinforcements using a unique and intuitive shuttle
   re-supply system.

   Multiplayer Gameplay:
   Cooperative Missions: Assign vital roles to your team
   members: resuply, base-building, or combat
   responsibility.
   Gameplay Modifications: Choose from different
   multiplayer game options, including 'King of the Hill',
   'Capture the Flag', or play traditional free-for-all battles
   with up to eight opponents.

Map Editor: Create your own 3D maps with the
integrated editor.

Dark Reign 2 is scheduled to release in December 1999. It is still in the pre-alpha version. Im sure this game will be fantastic.
