Everquest
Everquest is essentially a game that you can only play on the internet with thousands of other players playing with you on the same game. The graphics that are amazing. Look at this screenshot .
But that's not only the graphics that make a game a good one, there also the immersion factor and the gameplay. When you first enter the game, you'll say:" Oh! ah! wow!" You see all the nature and it seem so real. When you are attacked by a monster and you are going to lose, the panic enters you. That's what I call immersion and Eq got it.
For the gameplay, the monsters are really intelligent, when you are attacking there friends they'll jumped on you. That's what is hard, when you are attacking one orc and 2 others are jumping on you. Sure you can run, but they won't let you flee easily. They'll follow you until you are dead meet. When one of them is about to die, he goes back and the other one attacks you so you can't finish him. There is 12 different races in Eq and 14 different classes. Hundreds of spells to learn and much more different weapons that you could imagine. If you didn't like Ultima Online, this game is totally different. Eq is ONLY about hunting monsters. There is nothing else you can do in the game. If you don't kill monsters to gain experience and gain levels, you won't be able to raise your skills. It's NOT a virtual world like UO and that's why I found it really boring after i"ve played 2 months.
Well, if you've already tried Ultima Online or other virtual wolrd like this you might get bored fast. If you are a fanatic of hack and slash this game is for you, because it's the only thing you can do in it. There is about 70 hunting zone where you can find monsters. From dungeons to simple monster camps. Are you ready to pay 10$ each month to do the same thing again and again? My answer is no, I prefer going back to UO. I'm not saying it's not a good game, just that this game is not for everybody.
