Half-Life: 9.8/10

    Half-Life, the ultimate first-person shooter. If you love first-person shooter games yhou  NEED to have this one. Already game of the year of 1998, Half-Life use the quake graphic engine with some upgrades to it. The graphics in Half-Life are better then those in Quake2! But all the first-person shooter from the old Wolfeinsten 3D or Doom have only progress in one aspect of the game, the graphics. But this has change in 1998 when Half-Life come out. Half-Life is not only one of the best game in graphics but it's also the only game that is alive. What do I mean by alive? Well in Half-Life, you are a worker in a lab that's make researches on military weapons for the gouvernement. When you'll walk in the lab you can see a guy hiting a not working soda machine and everybody runs when they hear a shoot. Scientits are walking in the hall and they are talking together. It's not only peoples that will stay in place waiting for you to talk to them. You really think you are in a real game and you forgot that you are playing a game on a computer.

    There is lot's of suspense and the atmosphere is incredible. Weapons are innovative like all the rest of the game, a guided missile launcher is one of the many weapons in youre arsenal. Another good aspect of Half-Life is the deathmatch. With the game, there is a sort of battle.net or Gamespy 3D. The netplay is very smooth and really fun. If you love Quake or Quake2 deathmatch, you'll really appreciate this one.

    The only problem with this game is that the friendly npc's are always the same, there is not a lot of variation, the graphics are mostly the same for all the scientists, they are all twins.
