The Three Rivers Timber Rattlers are Charter Members of the Retro Metro Baseball League since 1996. The RMBL is a retro league that began with a replay of the 1989 season.
The underdog Rattlers went 112-50 to become the American Conference Western Division Champion by a margin of 34 games. In the American Conference Playoffs, the Rattlers faced Eastern Champion and heavely Collyer Brook Rainbow Trout. The Trout finished with a 110-52 record with a 10 game margin. The Rattlers defeated Collyer Brook 4 games to 1. Three Rivers advanced to the World Series where they faced another favorite, Columbus Capitals.
Columbus, 108-54 for the season, had just wraped up the National Conference where they surpassed the much favored Shadyside Yankees, 110-52 for the season, 4 games to 1.
Three Rivers made easy work of the Capitals sweeping the series in 4 games to become the 1989 RMBL World Champions.
