Rusty Mullins and Rodney Terry each have been nominated to the 2000 McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Team.
Mullins and Terry are two of 1,800 prep basketball standouts in the nation nominated by the McDonald's All-American Basketball team selection committee. As nominees, each player will be considered for one of the 24 slots on the final team that will compete in the McDonald's All-American High School Game.
Mullins averages 14.0 points per game and leads the Warriors in field-goal percentage at 60.6. Terry scores at a 14.9 per-game clip and leads Riverside in rebounding with 8.7 per game.
Riverside 68, Logan 48
��� Nat Moles scored a game-high 21 points as Riverside overcame an early deficit to defeat Logan 68-48 in the Class AAA Region 7 Section 2 final at Eddie King Gym Friday night.
��� Rodney Terry tossed in 16 points for the Warriors (22-1), who will play George Washington in the regional final Tuesday at the Charleston Civic Center. Karl Booker chipped in with 11 points and Moles also had five assists.
��� Ryan Jones led the Wildcats (10-12) with 11 points. John Ryan Steele and Randy Adkins each chipped in with 10.
��� Riverside trailed 20-18 after the first quarter and evened the score at 32 at halftime. The Warriors came out strong in the second half, though, and sealed the win by outscoring Logan 40-16.
Riverside 56, Spring Valley 52
��� Karl Booker scored a team-high 16 points as visiting Riverside defeated the Timberwolves.
��� Rusty Mullins added 13 points for the Warriors (20-1), ranked No. 3 in Class AAA. Rodney Terry chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Nat Moles added 11 points and six assists.
��� Dustin Dean led Spring Valley (12-9) with 19 points. Kris Wilson dropped in 13.
Riverside 54, Parkersburg 43
��� Dustin Mullins netted 17 points to lead Riverside, ranked No. 4 in Class AAA, to the win at Parkersburg.
��� Nat Moles and Rusty Mullins each added 13 points for the Warriors (18-1), who overcame a 21-18 halftime deficit by outscoring the Big Red 36-22 in the second half.
��� For Parkersburg (7-11), Derek Fleming scored 14 points and Shaun Williams had 13.
Riverside 65, St. Albans 60
��� Fourth-ranked Riverside continued to roll, downing host St. Albans, 65-60, behind Nat Moles 28 points.
��� Senior forward Rusty Mullins added 11 and Rodney Terry nine Wednesday for the Warriors, who improved to 17-1. Terry sat out much of the game after receiving a cut around his eye. Warrior Coach Jim Fout said this morning that Terry received about 20 stitches and likely will sit out a couple games.
��� For St. Albans (8-8), Ken-Michael Samms led the way with 19 points, while Dusty Herscher added 18.
Riverside 92, Ripley 42
��� Senior Rodney Terry led a balanced scoring attack with 19 points as the visiting Warriors beat the Vikings.�
��� Junior Nat Moles, sophomore Karl Booker, and senior Rusty Mullins added 13 points apiece and junior Joey Connard tacked on 10 for Riverside (15 - 1), who are tied for second in the latest Class AAA poll.
��� The Warriors led 20 - 3 after the opening quarter and never looked back in grabbing a 43 - 18 halftime lead.
��� For Ripley, Chad Spears tallied 10 points and Justin Southall and Tyler Pitts tossed in nine.��
