Praying Mantis Kung Fu


Sishing Walter D. Mackney - Mr. Mackney became a police officer in February of 1979. In the fall of that year he was exposed to HAKKO-RYU JU JUTSU at a police self-defense training seminar held at a local college. Finding the benefits of the techniques he learned during the course of his duties as a police officer, he soon pursued formal training in the art attaining his first Black Belt (ShoDan) in May of 1988 and his second degree (NiDan) in October of 1992. Thirsting for more he enrolled at the CHIDOKWAN School at Alfred Martial Arts in 1990 to study Karate and was awarded his ShoDan in December of 1995. He has since joined the New York State Police and is currently ranked as an Investigator with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. In May of 2000 he received his third degree (SanDan) Black Belt in CHIDOKWAN. Ever the student, he has also studied fencing (foil, epee, and freestyle) and is currently studying 8 STEP PRAYING MANTIS KUNG FU. He is CO-instructor of the Children and Young Adult class and assistant instructor in the adult advanced class at Alfred Martial Arts.
