I was given the opportunity to get involved with emerging technologies in a finance arena and have worked on some really interesting projects. Account ServicesAccount Services allows Barclaycard customers to access their live balance and statement details and pay off their balance over the Internet. We were the first non-USA implementation of 128-bit SSL security using Netscape products.EndorseEndorse is a smart card base digital signature mechanism that permits customers to sign documents over the Internet. The project was run inconjunction with Microsoft, EDS and the UK Government. This trial implementation permits customers who are newly self employed to register with three Government agencies with one interactive on-line form.BarclayCoinBarclayCoin is a system to allow the purchase of digital good for small value payments over the Internet. Traditionally the use of credit and debit cards is for reasonably large value payments and it is not financially viable to collect payment for small sums via these methods. BarclayCoin allows a customer to download an electronic wallet, charge it up with payments from their credit or debit card and then spend it in small amounts.Back to Ian's Home Page |
