Book One
Chapter One
The world was lit only by an eerie red light. A voice was heard.
"The light is about to be awakened. The light that will bring this God-forsaken planet towards darkness and destruction."
Thalia was standing in the middle of a path of destruction. A black tornado was tearing up the town and heading her way. She turned around to see someone walking towards her.
"Are you the Messiah?" She asked.
The figure disappeared. Taj turned and saw the tornado just feet away from her.
Taj awakened and opened her eyes...she was in her bed.
"That was one strange dream." She said to herself. "It was a dream...wasn't it? Or could that have been...the future?"
Meanwhile, in a dark place, a tall man dressed in black was surrounded by a group of other men. He was making a declaration.
"Soon it will be time. It's all falling into place. The dawn of the new millenium is upon us. The dawn of the apocalypse is upon this world. It is inevitable. Now we take it one day at a time and soon...there will be nothing but silence...and darkness." The group around him agreed.
"So...we meet again."
"Yes."
"Never thought that we'd be here under these circumstances."
"Neither did I. But now...we know what we must do. The new awakening is coming soon. The wheels of destiny have already begun spinning. Soon everything will be sent spiraling out of control. Our duty...is to not let that happen."
Chapter Two
Taj was walking around in her room, trying to understand the meaning of the dream she had.
"Taj?" A voice said.
She turned around to see Kanike, the leader of the Dark Mistress Society. She was a great leader, and although she lacked in self-confidence, she made up for it in being a leader full of knowledge and advice for her fellow sisters.
"Is everything all right?" She asked.
"Well...not really."
"What happened?"
"I...I had this dream..."
"Sit down. Tell me about it."
They sat down on the bed.
"I was standing in an area...everything was red...then I saw a black tornado coming my way...destroying all in its path. Then someone was walking towards me. I...I don't know where it came from, but I was asking them...'Are you the Messiah?' Then the person was gone...the tornado was feet away from me...that's when I woke up."
"That must have been scary..."
"Yes it was. I don't know what to make of it. I think it could have been the future..."
"The future?" Kanike could always rely on Taj for her visions on life...and of reality.
"But who would want to destroy the world?"
"I have no clue on this one, Taj..."
"Hey, don't worry yourself over this, Kanike. As you always say, take it with a grain of salt."
"Yes, I do say that...but a type of dream like this...I don't know what to say."
At that moment, Kanike heard something outside.
"What was that?" asked Taj.
"I don't know...You take it easy. I'll go and check this out."
"All right, I will."
Kanike went downstairs, and outside to see where the noise where was coming from. She looked all around. There was nothing there.
"Hello?" She called out. "Is anyone there?"
No one answered.
"Oh, well...guess it was nothing to worry about." She walked back inside.
Two men popped up as soon as she left.
"Well..." One said. "What do you make of her?"
"I don't know..." The other said. "She doesn't look like she'd cause any trouble."
"True...but looks are always deceiving. We had better keep a close eye on her."
To be continued...
