I can?t help but look at her as she sleeps. I wonder what she dreams of, actually who she dreams of. She has suffered so much over these past few months, losing her husband and her only daughter. She feels that no one?s left in the world to love her. She knows she?s wrong.
Making love with you has left me peaceful, warm and tired. What more could I ask? There?s nothing left to be desired.
I know she wants to let herself believe that she can love again. She wants to let her heart open, and give it to the person willing to receive all her love.
With all due respect, I want to be that person. The one to make her smile, to talk to her about anything, to take away any and all fears that she may have.
But for now, I?m happy knowing that she is able to smile, laugh and just plain live like nothing?s changed. But I know and she knows that nothing will ever be the same again in her world.
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak. So sleep, silent angel, go to sleep.
I move closer to her and give her a kiss. In her sleep, she actually smiles. I smile, too. I also say a silent prayer. Let this angel find the courage to fly again.
