BOOKFRIENDS is a group who are dedicated to supporting the New Hartford Memorial Library and its programs through volunteer assistance and fund raising. Activities listed below have been initiated by the library staff, the Board and the BOOKFRIENDS which will continue them as well as launch new ones.

In the coming year our projects and events will include..................

The Annual Light New Hartford -- in December, this Community holiday event begins with lighting of trees, carol singing followed by a reception at the library. Volunteers are needed to help decorate the library, bake and serve refreshments.
The Hospitality Committee -- for various library events throught the year. Help set up, clean up and serve refreshments. (Baking skills are not required but bakers are needed for special occasions.)
Ice Cream Social --Late Spring
Pre-school Delivery Service -- Deliver materials to area pre-school programs.
Used Book Sale -- The Friends collect books throughout the year for the annual book sale. Books, books-on-tape, cassettes, compact discs, videotapes and record albums are all welcome! Please drop off items inside the library in grocery bags or boxes during open hours. Friends sort and box books for this annual sale. New volunteers are always welcome. This year's sale will be held on Saturday, June 5th.
