Cape Town Taekwondo Club
The Cape Town Taekwondo Club was formed in 1996 by Sabunim Alvaro Foguet. He is a 3rd Dan hailing from Tucuman, Argentina. We train 3 times per week, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm till 7:30pm and on Fridays from 5:30pm untill 7pm. All newcomers are always welcome. We train at the NG Kerk Hall in Parow North.
We are affiliated with the WTF and the SATF.

Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art, and it is also the only martial art that is
a recognized Olympic Sport. It is a full contact sport, but protection must be worn
by all contestants at all times. Head gear, chest protectors, arm, shin and groin
protection must be worn when competing. The length of the rounds vary from competition
to competition, but average around 3 rounds of 2 minutes.

Competitions Our club has taken part in three competitions so far this year.
In March there was a competition in Polsmoor. For many students it
was their first competition, so it was very much a learning experience.
In May we took part in a competition in Voortrekkerhoogte. Our club came
back with 8 medals and 2 trophys. In July we took part in a competition
in Stellenbosch and also left with about 8 medals. On the 26th on September we are taking part in a competition in Mossil Bay. All support will be most welcome.
