Chris was a sleeper coming into the World Championships. He had been defeated soundly in every exhibition game. However, he opened the season with a shocking upset of the defending World Champion Trevor Wilson. He rode the wave of this success to victories over the number two and number three ranked players as well. He went undefeated through the regular season and found himself the number one ranked player in the world. He has secured himself a spot in the elite with a first round victory over Jason Welty to move into the Final Four. He then defeated one of the "Big Three", Chris Smith. His storybook rise to the top was abruptly ended in the World Championship Game where he was soundly defeated by Trevor Wilson.
