Biography: Rolf Petersen
Rolf Petersen
Born: 22 may 1972
Lives: Copenhagen & Val Thorens

Rolf's from Stro about 30 kms from Copenhagen. He started skiing when he was 17 years old, and the first trip went to Isaberg in Sweden. He's educated in the computer world and works now as the IT-administrator in an off-set print. When he reached 22 years he tried out as a ski bum for the first time and the first winter went to Val Thorens in the French Alps. Rolf got so happily addicted to the mountains and the skiing that he hasn't returned yet - that's six years ago! The work in front of the computer at home permitted him to continue the job from the mountains in the winter - which is still his way of living!
After the first season Rolf entered the National Team in mogul skiing, and he's competed in French Cup and Europa Cup until he peaked as the National Champion in 1998.
Due to several long indurations he quit the team in 1998 to continue as Freerider and to train the new style; New School Skiing. He was therefore one of the idea makers to Freeride.dk
Though out the five years in Val Thorens Rolf's trademark has been his different hair colors; i.e. red, blue, purple, white and brown... He thinks it gives a plow of color on your life!
