Steffi Graf defeated Anna Kournikova 6-3, 7-6(3) in an exhibition match in Cologne, Germany on Monday. Having lost to the Russian at Eastbourne, Steffi had revenge on her mind, and she got it in straight sets. On the following day, Steffi lost to the Russian 6-3, 5-7, 6-7(7-9) in Geneva. She then teamed with the youngster to take on John McEnroe and Yannick Noah in a one set doubles exhibition. Steffi and Anna lost 3-6.

Steffi Graf's incredible winning streak was finally snapped by World No. 1, Lindsay Davenport, in the semifinals of the season-ending Chase Championships in New York. Davenport beat Steffi 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 to exact revenge for the Philadelphia final the previous week!

Something to add to the ever increasing trophy collection - victory for Steffi in Philadelphia. Steffi beat Lindsay Davenport, the World No. 1, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to win her 106th career title!

Steffi Graf won the Sparkassen Cup in Leipzig, as she beat 2nd seeded Nathalie Tauziat for the 20th straight time, 6-3, 6-4. This was Steffi's 105th career title.
