Was there really any doubt?Come on,Cowher to Cleveland?No way!Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher has agreed to a three-year contract extension that will pay him at least $2 millon a year.Cowher and the Steelers are expected to complete the details before training camp opens monday.Cowher had two years left on a contract he signed in 1996 that paid him a little more than $1 million a year.The extension means Cowher will be coaching in Pittsburgh at least throuh 2001.

Greg Lloyd, a five-time Pro Bowl linebacker whose nasty temperament and aggressive play personified the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense for much of the 1990s, was release Tuesday.The move which was not unexpected,came six days before the Steelers open training camp and marked the second time in as many seasons they chose not to retain one of the best defensive players in team history.
