It's a kind of magic!
Part four
Nikki's
mystery was solved that very night.
The
six girls were finishing dinner when Rae decided to grab a piece of fruit. As
she opened the pantry door a black cat jumped in through the kitchen window and
quickly followed her into the pantry.
"Get
down Moggy." Rae exclaimed. There was a miaow from the cat, a curse from
Rae and then the sound of glass smashing.
"Oh
shit." Said Rae.
"What's
wrong?" asked Witka on her feet.
"Linzi
I'm really sorry." Said Rae. Linzi jumped up and everyone crowded round the
pantry door and helplessly watched the red viscous liquid quietly trickle away
in between the stone flags.
"Damn!"
Moaned Linzi.
"What
was it?" asked Nikki.
"My
medicine." Replied Linzi close to tears.
"It's
no big deal," said Nikki surprised at how upset she was, "You can get
some more from the chemist in the village." Nikki looked around at the grim
worried faces. "Can't she?"
"It's
not your usual medicine." Sighed Witka. "I suppose I'll have to phone
the lads then." She disappeared on her errand. Katya was trying to comfort
Linzi who was now actually crying softly.
"It'll
be alright," she said, "They'll probably be here soon. Don't
worry."
"What's
the big deal?" Nikki asked Rae. Rae stared at her indecision written across
her face.
"I'll
tell you later." She replied at last. Linzi suddenly whirled round her face
full of malice. She pointed a finger at the cat.
"When
this potion wears off I'm coming for you first, you damn cat." She snarled.
Witka re-entered the room.
"They'll
be here around midnight." She said grimly.
"Midnight!"
wailed Linzi, "I can't last 'til then." Witka put an arm round her.
"You'll
be fine. Just try your hardest to keep it under control." Comforted Witka.
"I
think Nikki, you and I should wait for the lads in your room." Remarked
Rae.
"Good
idea," agreed Witka, "We'll have to start getting everything ready
now." Linzi sighed.
