A New Start

Part one

Mel hummed as she puttered around her apartment building. She had just gotten home from her job as a checker at Albertsons, and was soo happy she was off. She hated that stupid job. But since her failed attempt as a pro wrestler, it was the only thing she had been able to get. Mel got her soup out of the microwave and sat on the couch. Just then, the phone rang. "Hello?," Mel smiled as the distinct voice of her friend Linzi rang out over the phone. Distinct because of her accent. English, that is. "Hey, hon! What's up?," Linzi was obviously excited. "I got some good news. Can Jade and I come over?," Mel raised an eyebrow. "Uh, I guess.," What was this all about? "Great. See ya in a little bit.," Mel hung up the phone. Hmmmmmm....

Mel let Jade and Linzi in and flopped down on the couch. They sat across from her, cheeks glowing. "So, what's up?," Linzi and Jade exchanged a glance. "Well, guess what Mel. You can quit your job at Albertson's.," Mel smiled. "Oh, really? Did we win the lottery?," The girls laughed. "Nope. Better.," Mel pretended to think. "Hmmmm...we've bought a male strip bar?," Jade rolled her eyes. "Melll..," Mel giggled. "Okay. I give. What is it?," Linzi grinned. " Okay, I'll tell you. We got the three of us a job... in WCW!," They looked at her expectantly. Mel's eyes almost popped out. "WHAT?!! Ohhh, no. Last time I tagged with Jade, I almost got my head knocked off..," Jade sighed. "Mel, that was ECW. WCW isn't as...violent.," Mel jumped up and started pacing. "Yea, right. Tell THAT to all the refs that have been hit with chairs. And besides, I didn't think they allowed coed wrestling.," Linzi nodded. "Usually, they don't. But Bischoff saw a tape of you two wrestling Sabu and Rob Van Dam and liked what he saw.," Mel snorted. "He liked what he saw. Wow. I'm excited.," Linzi and Jade exchanged a glance. "C'mon, Mel. We can't do this without you.," Mel sighed. "I don't know..," They gave her puppy dog eyes. "Hey, you guys! Stop that! Ohhh...," Linzi pretended to pout. "C'mon, Mel. You know you want to!," Mel sighed. "Oh, alright. But if I get hit with anymore barbwired bats...," The other two girls screamed. "YES!," Linzi grabbed the phone. "I'll call Bischoff now.," Mel smiled tiredly. "Yea. Great.,"
