Will Derrick Thomas Prevail?
____Derrick Thomas. So many thoughts come out of that one name. After several great seasons with the Chiefs, he seemed to disappear after the first game last year, only to be noticed again during his Monday Night meltdown against the Broncos. This led to a one game suspension and a benching as a starter, so the question remains in the back of many people's minds: Just what happened?
____No one, I guess can really answer that question, they can speculate all they want, but there is no one good answer to come out with. This will be his year, much like Grbac's, to make amends or to be shut out for good. After last year, and some embarassing moments that have stemmed since, he is deserving of no more chances then this one final one.
____Now I, personally, feel that he can come back full force and be better than he was, for he is one that likes to see his name up in lights, but not in a negative manner. He will prove himself once again to be a valuable asset to this team and he will silence some of his harshest critics. However if I am wrong then Thomas is out of a job, for as Cunningham has said--if Derrick doesn't step it up, then he'll find someone who will.
