Sanctioned Matches of the AWWA
Here is a list of all of the matches which are currently possible in the AWWA... Please note that every match must be approved by the Director of
Events...
Normal Matches
Standard Matches - These matches are set in a common ring which will have at least one referee. A win is scored by either a pin fall of three, a
submission or by disqualification. Two referees are sometimes issued, one for in the ring, and one for outside the ring, however the referee posted
inside the ring makes the final calls.
Six Man Tag-Team Match - Similar to that of the Tag-Team Match however has two teams of three.
Tag-Team Matches - These matches are similar to Standard Matches however are set between two teams of two. Each team will have one
member of the team in the ring while the other waits in opposite corners waiting for a tag. The member on the outside must have his hand on the
turnbuckle to make a tag legal.
Special Matches
Battle Royal - Ten to Thirty wrestlers in the ring at any one time, the winner of the match is the man who is left standing. The only way to be
eliminated is to be tossed over the top rope and down to the concrete flooring.
Best Two out of Three - This match is similar to the Standard Match, with the winner being the wrestler who successfully scores two out of
three pin falls, submissions, or disqualification.
Bullrope Match - This match links the wrestlers together with a thick fifteen foot rope which has a cowbell tied in the middle of the rope. The
winner of this match is the man who drags his opponent to all four corners. The use of the cowbell is completely legal.
First Blood Match - This match is always a non-disqualification match, the winner being the first one to bust open and draw first blood on his
opponent.
Handicapped Match - This match puts two wrestlers against one. The team of two can be either in the ring as the same time or can be used as a
tag-team, rendering a tag so that they can switch off.
"I Quit Match" - This match is similar to the Standard Match but the only way to score a win is by for one of the wrestlers to submit to the
other.
Iron Man Match - This match is similar to the Standard Match, however it will have a full hour time limit. Each Pin fall, submission, and or
Disqualification will render a point in that wrestlers favor. The wrestler with the most points at the end of the sixty minutes is the winner.
Ladder Match - This match follows the same rules as the Standard Match however hanging over the ring will either be a cash reward or a
championship belt. A fifteen foot ladder will be placed outside the ring, and must be dragged into the ring in order to gain the prize. The ladder
may be used in any way during this match.
Leather Strap Match - This match is similar to the Standard Match, however both men are issued a thick two foot leather strap. This strap can
be used in any manner without the possibilities of a disqualification.
Lottery Match - These matches are similar to the Standard Match, but there are at least five to fifteen wrestlers signed to the match. A lottery is
held which will put two wrestlers in against one another. Each following wrestler will enter after one of the men has been eliminated, by either pin
fall, submission or by disqualification.
Lumber Jack Match - This match is similar to the Standard Match, however the outside of the ring is surrounded by twenty to thirty other
wrestlers. When someone attempts to leave the ring or if someone gets tossed out it is the job of those on the outside to send him back in.
Russian Chain Match - With the same rules of the Standard Match, both men are linked together by a heavy fifteen foot steel chain. There are
no rules on the use of the steel chain, meaning that there is no possibility of a disqualification if the chain is being used.
Steel Cage Cell Match - This match is similar to the Steel Cage Match, however the cage has a full sized chain fence ceiling. There is not a
possibility of a disqualification result.
Steel Cage Match - This match is once again similar to the Standard Match, but surrounding the ring is a huge fifteen foot steel chain linked fence
cage. The cage has no top, and is normally used to ward off out side interference. The winner of the match is the man who scores the pin fall,
submission, or the disqualification.
Triangle Match - These matches are similar to that of the Standard Match however has three wrestlers. Two wrestlers are in the ring leaving the
third outside the ropes waiting for a tag from either man.
2 Ring / 8 Man Steel Cage Brawl - This match combines two rings surrounded by one giant Steel Cage Cell. The match has two signed
referees who are inside the cage at all times with he two teams of four. The match is a single elimination match, and anyone can be rejected cause
of a pin fall, submission, or disqualification. The winning team is the team who is left in the double rings. The dangers of this match is that once
someone is rejected, his team is left with uneven odds.
There are often more officials outside the cage to enforce that those who have been reject are escorted from the brawl.
Extreme Matches
Barbed Wire Cage Match - These matches combine the Barbed Wire Match and the Steel Cage Match. This match follows the standard match
rules however is always a non-disqualification match.
Barbed Wire Match - This match once again is similar to the Standard Match, however the ring's ropes are completely surrounded with barbed
wire which makes the use of the ropes extremely deadly.
Brass Knuckles Match - Both wrestlers will have their hands heavily taped with heavy gauze. This will make all of the punches impact with more
force, causing injury quicker. The winner is the man who knocks out his opponent.
Electrified Fence Cage Match - These matches are surrounded by a giant steel cage which has been slightly electrified and will harm anyone
who come into contract with the cage. These matches follow the same guidelines and rules of the Steel Cage Match, however are always
non-disqualification matches.
Fire Death Match - These matches are similar to that of the Barb Wire Match however the ring's ropes are covered with oiled rags and lit on
fire. The winner of the match is the one who scores the pin fall or the submission. These matches are usually Non-Disqualification Matches.
Scaffold Match - A huge scaffold is place thirty feet high in the air. The winner of the match is the last man standing. All others are forced off,
landing hard on the ring and sometimes concrete below.
Stretcher Match - This match is a No Disqualification match. The only way to lose is to be severely damaged so that continuing is impossible.
Usually the referee would make the decision, however a corner man for each wrestler may be used who can through in the towel and put an end
to the match.
Thai Death Match - These matches are always a No Disqualification match. Both wrestlers wrap their fist in tape and then dip them into a box
of busted glass. The winner of the match is the one who has successfully knocked out their opponent.
